Please join us in welcoming Samuel Mages to our staff.

Samuel has come onboard as our part-time Support Services Coordinator, to assist with administrative needs and family support 25 hours per week. Samuel has extensive experience working in caring ministries and has already proven to be a dedicated volunteer with Family Promise, and we are very grateful for his compassionate heart.

A native Kansan from Dodge City, Samuel felt called to church and mission work at a young age and has extensive experience in caring fields. He holds a Masters in Theology and Religious Education and served with large congregations in St. Louis and Denver as an associate pastor. He has worked at St. Anthony Family Shelter as a live-in house manager before following a call to missions, spending fourteen years in Mexico and two years in Costa Rica. His primary missionary work was assistance to the needy, with food, clothing, medicines, scholarships, houses built, homeless prevention, cottage industry, work with orphans, and establishing a medical clinic.

Personally, the offer to work at Family Promise was an answer to prayer for him.  Samuel says, “God has put in me a need and ability to serve others, especially those in need. But also, in those I serve I see myself when I’ve been broken, lost and defeated. I want to help as I have been helped.”

We are thankful for a great fit with Samuel and Family Promise of Greater Wichita!
