Community pride and collaboration. Much to celebrate.

At our Six-Month Shareholder’s Meeting on April 13, we reported on successes and what’s next. Here are a few highlights, plus some new teams and steps we have in the works to help more families.

More information and signups will be available at our next Shareholder Meeting – May 12 at West Ridge Community Church, 6-7:30pm.

Celebrations

  • Excellent staff: Jacqueline Cook Green as Executive Director, Samuel Mages as Support Services Coordinator, and interviews are underway for a new Case Manager position.
  • A dedicated and active Board of Directors, listed below.
  • We are grateful for the support and partnership of Officer Nate Schwiethale and the Homeless Outreach Team of the Wichita Police Department, plus a number of other local service agencies.
  • Our first family graduated! They continue to make progress towards their goals in life.
  • 22 generous and open Host and Support Congregations.
  • Dedicated volunteers are providing meals, overnight stays, administrative support at the Day House, and transportation for guests.
  • A fabulous Opening Gala, which raised more than expected last fall!
  • Great media exposure via television, print, and online. A guest was recently featured on the front page of the Wichita Eagle. If you missed it, view the story here.

What’s next?

We are forming some new teams to expand our services and help more families. As we build community support, we are also moving towards a second rotation of Host Congregations, which will double the number of families we can serve!
